Beginner’s Guide – Helping You Get Started

We all have to start somewhere and none of us were born knowing how all of this works. So we started this article to help those who are new and aren’t sure where to begin. But, what we don’t know yet is whether you are new to Minecraft, new to this server in particular, New to Roleplay and Lore based gaming, or new to Multiplayer Gaming.

If you know how to play Minecraft in survival mode already and just want to get to a place out in the wild that is unclaimed quickly, use the Random Teleport sign (RTP) at the spawn tree exit to be transported to a random spot in the wild. You can always use /spawn to return to spawn and try again if you don’t like the place you are sent to.

  1. In the meantime, if you are brand new to playing Minecraft, check out our New To Minecraft article.
  2. If you would like a bit of 101 on Celtic Lore see: New To Celtic Lore
  3. If you are new to RPGs and Lore see: New To Roleplay and Lore Gaming

That New To Minecraft guide is a good start for Minecraft as we have it implemented on Hy-Brasil but we have a lot of other added features which aren’t mentioned in it. So, let’s talk about some of those. While on vanilla Minecraft there is the ability to turn on keep inventory so you don’t lose your valuable gear if you die somewhere, we use a plugin here which puts your stuff in a Dead Chest which will hold it for you for up to 24 hours so you have plenty of time to go back and retrieve your items. Hint /back will take you to the spot where you died.

It’s not quite as easy as Keep Inventory so there’s still a bit of challenge involved in that you have to return to the place you died and deal with whatever killed you to get your stuff back. But, at least you don’t lose a lot of gear because of one simple slip up.

Another thing, in vanilla Minecraft when you chop down a tree you have to manually remove every single log block from the tree one by one which can be tedious and time consuming. We prefer a quicker approach so we use a plugin called Tree Assist which automatically cuts the whole tree down when you knock out one block and places the blocks in your inventory as long as you are using an axe.

The plugin automatically deducts the proper amount of durability from your axe as if you had cut the tree manually. It’s a real time saver overall which lets you focus less on grinding and more on enjoying the game.
